Rest areas in Croatia receive high marks
Four rest areas along the highway Zagreb-Split, which have been evaluated along with 97 other rest areas as part of a project of European motor clubs, have received high marks for tidiness and good layout and along with Austrian rest areas have been marked as the best in Europe.
The highest mark - "very good" has been given to three rest areas in Croatia - Modrus - West, Licki Osik - East and Krka - West, while the second best mark - "good" - has been given to the rest area Modrus - East.
Addressing a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday, Darko Brozovic, a representative of the Croatian Motor Club (HAK- Hrvatski auto klub20) in charge of the project, called EuroTest, underlined the importance of the campaign, saying that information on the quality of Croatian rest areas would be made available to some 40 million members of
European motor clubs.
Of 101 rest areas across Europe, only 11 were marked as "very good", including three in Croatia.
The test covered the state and cleanliness of rest area facilities, including toilettes, playgrounds, the accessibility of rest area facilities to people with special needs, the number and state of picnic tables, and the level of illumination.
The EuroTest project, conducted during the spring by an independent agency, covered 18 motor clubs from 17 countries, mostly European Union members. (Hina)
