This year, the French tourist market is showing great interest in Croatia, whose destinations are included in the programmess of the largest and most important French tour operators and agencies, and interest exists for new regular air services, the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) reported on Tuesday.

Good news for Croatian tourism comes from the largest international tourist fair in France "Salon Mondial du Tourisme" the recently held in Paris and from the accompanying business workshop organised by the HTZ representative office in Paris which gathered more than 60 French travel organisers and travel agencies.

Representatives of Croatia Airlines, Maistra, Falkenstainer, Hilton and agencies from almost all parts of Croatia discussed business opportunities and cooperation with them at the workshop.

"Participation in the "Salon Mondial du Tourisme" is an excellent basis for further promoting Croatia and tourist attractions in France. Croatia's offer is well represented by the most important French tour operators, and the further growth of specialised offers with an emphasis on eno-gastronomy, business, cultural and nautical tourism can certainly be an additional motive for the arrival of travellers from France to Croatia," the director of the HTZ representative office in Paris, Danijela Mihalić Đurica, said.

She underscored that a lot is being written about Croatia's tourist offer in the French media and the increase in interest from that market is also confirmed by the fact that tourist turnover from France is constantly growing.

According to data from eVisitor, so far this year, French guests generated 54% more overnight stays in Croatia than in the same period in the record 2019, according to HTZ.
