Croatia will get HRK 380 million from European Union structural funds to revitalise the cultural heritage in order to encourage tourism development, a seminar in Split heard on Monday.

A tender for the use of the grant will likely be published by the end of October or by year's end at the latest, said Ivan Tomeljak of the Heritage Go Pro consulting company, which organised the seminar on cultural heritage and EU funds.

He said the tender would be open until 2020 and that it might be extended until mid-2023, and that the emphasis would be on the use of the funds for tourism. He said public government bodies at all levels and owners of cultural heritage could apply.
