Kazakhstan will host a session of the UNWTO Commission for Europe (CEU) from 25 to 27 April, and Croatia will chair the meeting for the first time, the Croatian State Secretary for Tourism, Zdenko Micic, said in Zagreb on Wednesday.

The World Tourism Organization has recently changed its acronym to UNWTO due to frequent confusion between the two WTOs - World Tourism Organization and the Geneva-based World Trade Organization. UNWTO is a United Nations agency dealing with questions relating to tourism. Its headquarters are in Madrid, Spain.

After today's meeting of UNWTO CEU chairmen in Zagreb, Micic said they had discussed cooperation between CEU members and work on CEU program.

According to UNWTO Panel of Experts, "the positive factors that are likely to influence tourism in Europe in 2006 far outweigh the negative ones." (Hina)
