Croatia's H1 tourist trade equal to 30% of trade in same period 2019

In the first six months of 2020, there were 1.6 million tourists visiting Croatia and generating 7.6 million overnight stays, which is 30% of the results in the corresponding period in 2019, according to the figures released by the he National Tourist Board (HTZ).

In June alone, 892,000 visitors were registered in Croatia and they made 4.8 million overnight stays, which is equivalent to 32% of overnight stays in June 2019, the HTZ director, Kristjan Stanicic said on Wednesday.

 "Taking into consideration the current circumstances in the whole world and Croatia, we can be satisfied," said Stanicic.

In the H1 2020, domestic guests generated 31% of total overnight stays.

In the first half of 2020, foreign guests accounted for 69% of overnight stays, and Slovenians rank first (26%). They are followed by Germans (25%), and Austrians (7%), while guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Czech Republic accounted for 7% each.

In June alone, foreigners generated 81% of overnight stays, and Germans accounted for a quarter of those overnight stays. (Hina)
