Croatia at Ferien-Messe, expects better tourism results from Austria than in 2019
Croatia has a great position on the Austrian tourism market as the second most popular foreign holiday destination, after the first-ranked Italy, and better results are expected from Austria this year than in 2019, it was said at the Ferien-Messe fair in Vienna, which opened on Thursday.
Ferien-Messe is the largest international travel show in Austria and this year Croatia is the partner country.Austria's largest holiday fair targets the general and business audience. Following the pandemic, the fair is once again being held in full format from 16 to 19 March with more than 500 exhibitors from about 70 countries, including Croatia, whose tourist industry is being presented by the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) and about 20 other companies and destinations.
The fair's organiser expects more than 100,000 visitors at the event.
Today's opening was attended by the fair's leading officials, the Austrian Tourism Association and Austria's State Secretary for Tourism Susanne Kraus-Winkler. Croatia's Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac, the director of HTZ Kristjan Staničić and the director of the HTZ representative office in Austria and Switzerland Branimir Tončinić, were also present at the opening of the fair.
The organisers thanked Croatia for its partnership and commended its performance.
During the fair Croatian exhibitors will talk with Austrian partners, including Aaretal Reisen, which connects Austria and Switzerland with the island of Brač with air charter flights. It also connects Austria with Istria, the Kvarner region and Dalmatia by bus lines. Talks will also be held with executives of High Life Reisen which in turn connects Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein with Pula and Zadar with charter lines.
