Croatian Tourism Minister Božidar Kalmeta and Macedonian Deputy Economy Minister Saša Andonovski signed an agreement on tourism cooperation at the 2nd Crans Montana Forum in Zagreb on Thursday.

Cooperation in the tourism sector was agreed at last year's Crans Montana Forum with the aim of promoting bilateral cooperation, especially in the context of regional cooperation, Kalmeta said.

Tourism in Croatia as a Mediterranean country is not a rival to but complements Macedonian tourism, thus offering the possibility of joint presentation, he added.

Andonovski said that the two countries would hold a meeting in Ohrid next month to start implementing the agreement. The agreement provides for establishing a joint working group for tourism.

Cooperation in tourism gains additional importance in the context of today's opening of talks on the expansion of the Central European Free  Trade Agreement (CEFTA), which are being attended by the prime ministers of Croatia and Macedonia, Andonovski said.(Hina)
