€17m approved for thermal spa centre in Bjelovar

The government and the tourism ministry has approved the disbursement of €17 million as a grant for the construction of a spa centre in Bjelovar, and this amount will cover nearly a half of the necessary amount for the project, Mayor Dario Hrebak said on Saturday.

The Terme Bjelovar will definitely revitilise our city, the mayor said adding that the future spa centre with an Olympic swimming pool should be constructed until the autumn of 2026.

The spa centre in the suburban settlement of Veliko Korenovo will consist of seven swimming pools and other amenities and entertainment facilities, and geothermal energy will be used to heat this thermal spa.

The blueprint of the project was prepared six years ago.
