Gov't okays issuance of 3,000 more work permits for foreigners in tourism and constructionThe Croatian government on Wednesday decided to increase the quota for foreign workers in the tourism and hospitality industry as well as in the construction sector following the requests by employers who have warned that labour shortage could undermine the tourist season. Thus, 2,000 more work permits will be issued in the tourist industry, which means that a total number of foreigners hired in this sector rises from 10,611 to 12,611 with a possibility of issuing an additional 1,000 work permits for foreigners, if necessary. 19.06.2019. | News

​Croatians spend EUR 1.2 bn on trips in 2018In 2018, 46.5% of the Croatians above 15 years of age travelled at least once, and those 1.7 million people spent 8.7 billion kuna (EUR 1.2 billion) on those several-day-long visits, according to the figures provided by the national statistical office (DZS). Last year, the Croatians made 4.3 million private visits, and nearly two thirds (more than 2.8 million or 64%) were visits inside Croatia, and 36% (1.6 million) were abroad. 17.06.2019. | News
