The International Travel Fair Antwerp, with this year’s partner country Croatia, will be officially opened on Saturday and closed on 31 January.
The Antwerp fair is one of the oldest and largest tourist fairs in Belgium. In 2006 it received 28 official foreign delegations, some 600 exhibitors and nearly 120,000 visitors.
During the event, Croatia will present its tourist offer with the screening of a short documentary and the promotion of Dalmatian folk music. Croatia is also covering the largest exhibition area where the visitors can find out all they want to know about Croatia and the upcoming tourist season.
Belgium is a very interesting tourist market, when it comes to Croatia, for the number of Belgium tourists in Croatia is growing with every year. During the period of 2001 - 2005, the number of Belgium tourist was more than doubled, from 42 000 it went up to 92 000 guests.
According to the latest official data, during the last eleven months Croatia registered 91 624 Belgium visitors, who stayed for over 471 thousand nights.
