According to the State Secretary for Tourism Zdenko Mičić, approximately 1 million tourists are spending their holiday along the Adriatic coast. These figures support this year’s expectation of an increase of tourists up to 5 %, which also means that this year’s possible profit from tourism might amount up to EUR 6 billions.
The reason for those positive results was a very successful tourist season during July and tourists coming from non-traditional Croat tourist markets like France and Scandinavia. They helped to make up for a certain loss in the number of German tourists. In some counties of Dalmatia the growth of tourists amounts up to 20%.
Towards the end of this week, the Croatian National Tourist Board expects temporary but more precise figures regarding the number of tourists for July and for the period from January to July.
