Croatian Tourist Minister Damir Bajs on Monday expressed satisfaction with the results of tourist trade in the first six months of this year.
Addressing a news conference in Zagreb, Bajs said that both arrivals and overnight stays rose by three percent in the said period.
He added that earnings were rising at a higher rate than the number of tourists.
Presenting a programme aimed at stimulating the training of employees in the hotel and tourist sectors, Bajs said that five billion kuna would be invested in hotels this year.
Of this sum, HRK 1.5 billion will be spent on the renovation of the existing hotels and HRK 3.5 billion on the construction of new hotels. (Hina)
