The annual gathering of travel agencies, known as UHPA Days, kicked off in the northern Adriatic city of Umag on Tuesday with the signing of contracts designating Istria as the recommended destination by the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UPHA) for 2024.

UHPA president Tomislav Fain expressed his optimism for a successful season, underscoring the pivotal role of travel agencies in sustaining year-round tourism.

Taking place from 19 to 21 March in Umag, UHPA Days have received support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Tourist Board, as well as the tourist boards of Istria County and the City of Umag,

Before the opening, UHPA signed a business cooperation agreement with the Istria County Tourist Board as part of UHPA's long-standing project "Domestic Destinations of the Year."  This strategic initiative aims to foster the development of tailored tourist programs, elevate destination promotion efforts, and ultimately boost tourist expenditure.

"Istria has already established itself as a formidable tourism brand nationally, consistently ranking highest in overnight stays for years and witnessing significant investments in tourism development. Through this collaboration, we aim to further spotlight this region for both tourists and partners," Fain said.
