Split promoted in London as host of Powerboat 1 race

Croatia and its southern Adriatic city of Split were officially promoted at the World Trade Market in London on Tuesday as hosts of next year's offshore world racing series Powerboat P1.

Split has great potential and we believe it will use it and present itself as a centre of boating tourism during the race, Powerboat 1 owner and director-general Asif Rangoonwala said at a press conference which was also attended by Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs.

The race will kick off in Split on April 16, 2010.
