Over 80 companies attend Albanian-Croatian economic forum
Infrastructure investment, firefighting equipment, tourism and environmental protection are just some of the areas with the potential to increase economic cooperation between Croatia and Albania, an Albanian-Croatian economic forum was told in Tirana on Thursday.
The forum was held as part of the official visit of the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Darko Horvat. It was organised by Tirana's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), and B2B meetings involved over 80 Albanian and Croatian companies.Horvat expressed his satisfaction with participation in the forum, saying that Croatia was committed to strengthening its economic ties with Albania by making maximum use of the potential and achieving mutually beneficial results.
"The importance of this event is indicated by the fact that a large number of representatives of Croatian companies that are successfully operating in Albania have signed up for business talks, as well as companies that are willing and capable of meeting the business challenges and starting talks on specific forms of cooperation with Albanian partners," Horvat said according to a press release from the HGK.
The HGK's vice president for international relations and the EU, Ivan Barbaric, said that trade between Croatia and Albania had nearly doubled in the first four months of 2019 compared with the same period in 2018, from €11.5 million to €21.5 million. (Hina)
