Munich fair confirms good position of Croatian tourism in Germany

The Munich f.re.e,  one of the largest fairs for leisure and travel in Germany, started on Wednesday, and the event confirmed that Croatia is among the top five vacation destinations for Germans, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) said in a press release.

The f.re.e fair is taking place in Munich from 14 to 18 February, and Croatia's tourism industry ise being promoted by HTZ and 25 other (co)exhibitors, tourist boards, national parks, hoteliers, agencies, carriers and others. Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić and other representatives of the tourism sector arrived in Munich for the fair, and meetings with Bavarian partners, such as ADAC and others.

Minister Brnjac said that this year, after being a partner country at the fair in Munich last year, Croatia will continue to present the best of its tourism.

"The Bavarian market is extremely important to us and that is why our goal is to strengthen our position, but also to upgrade it in the context of the year-round travel of Germans to Croatia", said Brnjac, who also met with the Bavarian Minister of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism Michaela Kaniber who officially opened the fair.

Brnjac and Kaniber held talks on cooperation in tourism and agriculture.

Staničić was quoted as saying that Germans make up 22% of overnight stays in Croatia, and he expressed satisfaction with trends in bookings made by German holidaymakers so far for the forthcoming season.
