Croatian Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac on Thursday received the German ADAC auto club's Christopher medal for her commitment to the development of sustainable tourism and the years-long cooperation with one of Europe's largest auto clubs, the ministry said in a press release.

Brnjac received the award in the ADAC headquarters in Munich, where she is attending the fr.e.e. tourism fair, taking place on 14-18 February.

She said the cooperation with ADAC was first institutionalised in 2021 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

This award confirms that sustainable tourism is the right direction and the only one we should strive for, she said, adding that Croatia's Tourism Act allows managing tourism development based on data so that the lives of the local population and the stay of tourists can both be better.
