HTZ: More than 500 air routes in Croatia this summer

This summer Croatia will have 517 domestic and international air routes that will be operated by around 70 air carriers, as a result of which a double-digit increase in air tourist traffic is expected compared to last year, the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) has reported.

The national flag carrier, Croatia Airlines, and foreign airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Eurowings and Lufthansa will have the most rotations during the summer season.

The HTZ also underlined the return of direct flights to distant markets. These include direct flights such as Zagreb-Seoul (South Korea) and Riad (UAE)-Dubrovnik, which were suspended during the pandemic years. Flights are also foreseen for 'distant' destinations like Canada, the USA and Qatar. 

Croatia will be directly connected to 133 foreign cities during the summer, or three more than last year, and 41 countries, most of which are in Europe. The largest number of air operations will be with Germany, the UK, Italy, France and Poland.

The most routes to domestic airports include Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik, according information from the Croatian airports.

"Almost all airports expect an increase in traffic this year, and the increase in the number of airlines best shows that Croatia continues to firmly occupy the position of a safe and attractive tourist country. Numerous airlines have recognised the increased demand for Croatian destinations and have expanded their programs, and we are happy there are more and more connections with distant markets," HTZ director Kristjan Staničić said.
