HNB expects 6.7 pct rise in 2011 tourism revenues

Croatia's tourism revenues in 2011 are expected to be 6.7 per cent higher than they were in 2010, while such growth this year is unlikely because of growing insecurity on major tourism-generating eurozone markets and an expected decline in spending, the Croatian National Bank (HNB) projected in its latest bulletin.

In the third quarter of 2011, tourism revenues totalled EUR 4.17 billion, an increase of 7.8 per cent in relation to the corresponding period of 2010, while in the first nine months of the year they reached EUR 6.05 billion, up 6.8 per cent.

Total tourism revenues in 2010 amounted to EUR 6.23 billion. If the 2011 revenues grow by 6.7 per cent, they will reach about EUR 6.67 billion. (Hina)
