The beginning of the project "Protection of children in sports" (GUARD), financed by the European Union, was marked by a two-day inaugural transnational meeting in Zagreb. The host was the Croatian Olympic Committee, and the meeting brought together key stakeholders from partner organisations across Europe.

The event began with welcoming speeches by Morana Paliković Gruden, Vice-President of the Croatian Olympic Committee, and Natalija Havidić, Director of the Sector for Strategic Planning, Digitisation and European Union Funds in the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

In addition to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Croatian Olympic Committee, the partners in the GUARD project are the national Olympic committees of Slovenia, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Greece and Lithuania.
