The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, visited Umag on Sunday, where he attended the first day of the 34th edition of Croatia's only ATP tennis tournament, the Plava Laguna Croatia Open, which he stated "brands" Istria as a year-round tourist destination.

I am pleased to be here tonight in Umag, to have the opportunity to watch and participate in this event, a major international sports event, which we, as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Croatian National Tourist Board, have strongly supported this year as well.

This year, we have invested over 520,000 euros, of which 400,000 euros were awarded through the Ministry of Tourism and Sports' competition for major sports events," said Minister Glavina, highlighting that during this government's mandate, 130 events have been co-financed with an amount exceeding 43 million euros. (Hina/FaH)
