The Croatian Tourism Ministry and the national tourism board HTZ will this year invest HRK 15.8 million in on-line advertising, twice as much as last year, and another HRK 18.1 million will be spent on Internet advertising together with domestic and foreign entities, which brings the total amount to be spent on on-line tourism promotion to almost 34 million kuna, it was said at a news conference in HTZ offices on Thursday.

Tourism Minister Damir Bajs said that this year Croatia expected the number of visitors booking their holidays on-line to increase in relation to last year.

He said that since 2007 funds for on-line tourism promotion had increased 15 times and that Croatia was one of the countries investing the most in that type of promotion.

HTZ director Niko Bulic said that this year the tourist sector would be advertised on-line through banners on popular web portals in Europe and elsewhere, by e-mail marketing, through social networks, and through interactive marketing. (Hina)
