Croatia signs memorandum with ADAC
Croatian Tourism Days began in Župa Dubrovačka on Thursday with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the German auto club ADAC and a conference on global travel trends with foreign tour operators, who said Croatia's tourism had a good position on the international market.
Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac said the signing of the memorandum played a big role on the German market and that Croatia was the first country whose Tourism Ministry had signed such a memorandum."ADAC has more than 21 million members who listen to them and they are important to us for promotion and other activities on the German market, the most represented one in Croatian tourism. By continuing to exchange information and data at various levels, we will promote Croatia's tourism industry even better," she said.
The director of ADAC's tourism department, Karlheinz Jungbeck, said that was a result of the good connection between German and Croatian tourism, adding that ADAC contributed to that with information and recommendations on campsites, travel and traffic.
We are pushing for all of the EU to have something like a common vignette, mobile app or a similar tool for better connectivity and traffic flow, notably during high season, which is part of the European Commission's plan in the Connectivity Tollbox project, and we are glad that now we will be able to cooperate even better with Croatia and its auto club and road companies, he said.
At the conference, representatives of global tour operators TUI and easyJet Holiday, the Expedia booking platform, and the Greek.Cypriot Atlantic Hotels chain were agreed that Croatia was dealing with the pandemic relatively well and said they planned to continue to cooperate with Croatian tourism.
Croatian Tourist Board director Kristjan Staničić said it was difficult to expect travel to go back to normal. (Hina/FaH)
