Events promoting Croatia in Paris began on Monday with the staging of the conceptual exhibition called "Le Village de la Croatie" in Place du Palais Royal in the first arrondissement of the French capital, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) said.

In attendance at the opening ceremony of the promotional events, which will last until 9 June, was French government minister Patrick Ollier, who expressed satisfaction with the organization of this exhibition in the square near the Louvre.

The French audience will have an opportunity to become acquainted with inventions originating from Croatia, such as Slavoljub Penkala's pencil, Ivan Vucetich's fingerprinting technique, Faust Vrancic's parachute, the self-propelled torpedo invented by Ivan Lupis (Giovanni Luppis), and inventions by Nikola Tesla.
