Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac on Thursday presented Croatia's reform of tourism management during the ongoing ministerial gathering of the UNWTO in Saudi Arabia, the Croatian ministry stated in a press release.

During a forum entitled "A sustainable future for Travel & Tourism", Croatia was described as an example and forerunner for the accomplishment of goals concerning sustainability in tourism through a single legislative framework and specified strategic targets, said the ministry.

Brnjac informed the event of Croatia's activities in the development of sustainable tourism.

We expect the measures envisaged in the new law on tourism to contribute to the economic, ecological and social resilience of both urban and rural as well as island destinations and of companies. We expect the investments to result in the development of the tourist sector in accordance with the highest environmental standards, the minister was quoted as saying.

The marking of World Tourism Day 2023, organised by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), brought together in Riyadh on Wednesday and Thursday representatives of over 100 member states, state and tourism leaders from the public and private sectors.
