Croatia recorded 19.8 million tourist arrivals and 105.8 million overnight stays in the first ten months of 2023, which are increases of 9% in arrivals and 3% in overnight stays compared with the same period in 2022, the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) said in a press release on Friday.

The results are equal to those for the record-breaking pre-pandemic year 2019.

The largest number of arrivals was recorded from Germany, followed by Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and Poland.

In October 2023, 1.1 million arrivals and 3.6 million overnight stays were recorded, which are increases of 13% in arrivals and 11% in overnight stays compared with October 2022.

"The excellent results of the post-summer season confirm that Croatia is increasingly recognised as a year-round destination, which is a clear indicator that we need to develop our tourist industry in that direction," Tourism and Sports Minister Nikolina Brnjac was quoted as saying in the press release.
