Croatia, China ink tourism cooperation agreement
Croatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli and Chinese Culture and Tourism Minister Luo Shugang signed a tourism cooperation agreement in Dubrovnik on Wednesday, which was preceded by a meeting of Croatian and Chinese delegations. Cappelli said the agreement would make bilateral cooperation more concrete, with an action plan and deadlines, notably after Croatia's National Tourist Board opens an office in Shanghai in November.
The two prime ministers will meet on that occasion, "which will be a huge step in the cooperation between the two countries," said Cappelli."We will visit all the important Chinese fairs and, at the initiative of the Chinese ambassador, we have agreed that next year will be named year of tourism between China and Croatia. That's not a coincidence, because the premiers of the China+16 initiative will meet in Croatia, which will additionally promote cooperation," he added.
Cappelli said Croatia recorded a huge number in Chinese arrivals this year and that work was under way to improve the visa system and open direct lines.
