Croatia can be satisfied with advance bookings made by Dutch tourists

Dutch tour operators and other partners of the Croatian tourist trade in the Netherlands are satisfied with how advance bookings for holidays in Croatia this year are being made, and according to the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) , advance bookings for flights which TUI is going to introduce this year for Split and Pula are also satisfactory.

The good news is based on the data which the HTZ collected during the ongoing "Vakantiebeurs" fair in Utrecht, showing a rise in bookings.

Croatia is partner country at the fair which is taking place in that central Dutch city from 10 to 15 January. On Wednesday, a workshop was held for Dutch travel agents and representatives of Croatian tourist camps.

Apart from flights which TUI will organize from Amsterdam to Split and Pula from May to September, the Transavia.com tour operator will also introduce flights from Rotterdam to Split from June to September and Sundio will operate a service to Pula during the high season.

In the first 11 months of 2011, there were 286,100 Dutch travelers visiting Croatia, which was 0.7 percent up from the corresponding period of 2010. The made 2.22 million overnight stays, which was a 0.9-percent drop.

Dutch tourists are important guests for Croatian camping facilities, with 68 percent of all Dutch travelers staying in Croatian camps. A large majority of them (70 percent) choose Istrian camps for their destinations, however an increasing number of Dutch guests have been visiting Dalmatia over the last two years. (Hina)
