Local authorities in Istria will impose new measures as of Sunday in a bid to curb COVID-19, and one of those steps is the closing of bars and restaurants from Sunday to 14 April.

However, bars and restaurants will be allowed to deliver meals to homes and the ban is not imposed on soup kitchens.

Local shops will be obliged to shorten their working hours, and to close their doors each day at 1800 hrs. Furthermore, customers and shoppers are supposed to keep a distance.

Also hairdressers' shops and beauty parlours will stay closed over the next 30 days.

Currently six patients in Pula hospital, five almost with no symptoms

The Pula general hospital is currently caring for six patients who have tested positive for coronavirus.

The hospital's director Irena Hrstic said on Saturday that five of them had almost no symptoms and one of them had a high body temperature.

One more suspected case has been hospitalised, and the results of the test will be known on Sunday, Hrstic said.

She also explained that thanks to the fact that the hospital had two buildings, one of them was allocated for COVID-19 patients.

In Pula, there are now 22 people in self-isolation.
