Croatian minister proposes setting up special EU fund for tourismCroatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli proposed at the Tourism and Economic Growth conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, the establishment of a special EU fond for tourism and task force within EU institutions, the Croatian Tourism Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday. AHF forum: Hotel&Tourism industry has to brace for GDPR regulationThe sixth two-day regional Adria Hotel Forum (AHF) ended in Zagreb on Thursday, with a recommendation that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will have to be implemented at the EU level and enters into force at the end of May and that the hotel&tourism industry has to prepare itself well for the regulation. Croatia promotes its tourism in South KoreaThe Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Tuesday it had presented Croatia's tourism to 40 South Korean partners as part of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, emphasising that it expected more South Korean tourists this year. Croatia sees 13% increase in number of tourists in commercial accommodationSome 17.4 million tourists stayed in commercial accommodation in Croatia in 2017 and generated 86.2 million overnight stays, which are increases of 13% and 10.6% respectively compared to 2016, the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS) said on Tuesday. Zagreb marks Chinese New Year with "EU-China Light Bridge" projectZagreb will mark the Chinese New Year with a number of activities on 12-16 February, including the EU-China Light Bridge project, which is the contribution of the Croatian capital to the EU-China project, the EU project promoting EU and China tourism in 2018, the Zagreb Tourism Board (TZGZ) said on Monday. Croatia records fewer visits by foreign cruise ships in 2017The number of foreign cruise ships visiting the Croatian Adriatic was down in 2017 compared to 2016. A total of 691 foreign cruise ships visited Croatia in 2017, down 16.2 percent (135 cruise ships) compared with 2016, carrying 947,300 passengers or 13.3 percent fewer than the year before, figures from the National Bureau of Statistics show. 12.02.2018. | News

Croatia one of top 20 European destinations for holidays in 2018 – ETCThe European Travel Commission (ETC) has described Croatia as "a royal choice for a holiday" where stunning magnetic attraction can be felt, and recommended Croatia as one of the 20 best holiday destinations in Europe in 2018. The online edition of the ETC's Europe-Visit Europe magazine cites Croatia among 20 destinations that include entire countries, cities and regions and that "bring something new in terms of accommodation, different attractions and more." Croatia is recommended as a country that is unique in many aspects, with rich cultural and historical heritage, splendid sea beaches, rivers, mountains, lakes and very popular music and film festivals.
