​Six Chinese police officers to patrol with Croatian colleagues during peak tourist seasonA ceremony was held in Dubrovnik on Sunday to mark the deployment of six Chinese police officers in Croatia as part of the Safe Tourist Season project, launched in 2006. Over the next month, the Chinese police officers will be working with their Croatian colleagues at three locations: in Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Plitvice Lakes National Park. Number of tourist beds in Croatia up 6.5% to 1.13 millionAt the end of June, there were 112,500 registered commercial accommodation facilities in Croatia with a total of 1.13 million beds, which is a 12% increase in the number of facilities and a 6.5% increase in the number of beds compared with the same time in 2017, data from the eVisitor online tourist registration service shows. Tourists generate 10% more nights in H1In the first half of 2018, 6.4 million tourists visited Croatia, generating 25.4 million nights, up 10% and 12% respectively on the year, the National Tourist Board said on Wednesday, adding that in June alone, arrivals went up 4% on the year, while nights were the same. Foreigners accounted for 5.5 million arrivals (+12%) and 22.2 million nights (+10%). Tourism revenues in Q1 rise 14% y-o-yTourism revenues in the first quarter of 2018 totalled EUR 450.2 million, up 14% on the year, the Tourism Ministry said on Friday, citing Croatian National Bank figures. With this revenue, tourism accounted for 4% of GDP, up 0.2 percentage points from the first quarter of 2017. Commenting on the revenues and their rise, Minister Gari Cappelli said they were a confirmation of the focus of the public and private sectors on competitive year-round tourism. 30.06.2018. | News
