A total of 2.7 million tourists visited Croatia in the first five months of 2015, which was an increase of 12% over the same period of 2014, while the number of bed nights went up by 14% to 7.3 million, the National Tourist Board said on Friday.
Figures showed that 1.9 million foreign tourists visited Croatia in the January-May period, generating 6.2 million bed nights. Compared with the corresponding period of last year, the number of tourist arrivals rose by 13% and that of bed nights by 15%.
The number of domestic tourists also increased -- by 7% as regards arrivals and by 8% as regards bed nights.
In May alone, Croatia recorded 1.2 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 15% compared with May 2014, and 4.2 million bed nights, up 19%.
