The newly-renovated hotel Villa Rova in Malinska on the northern Adriatic island of Krk was formally reopened on Tuesday by Enterprise Minister Gordan Maras and the hotel's owner Ivica Krncevic.
The hotel was renovated as part of the the project "Reconstruction of the Hotel Villa Rova" and the reopening ceremony was used to present the results of the project.
The project was worth 14.8 million kuna, of which 7.4 million was provided from the European Regional Development Fund within the operational programme "Regional Competitiveness 2007-2013". It was one of the nine projects in the tourist sector approved for co-financing from EU funds and the first to be successfully completed.
The hotel was extended and renovated in accordance with sustainability and environmental standards defined by national strategies. A third storey was added and an outdoor swimming pool and a sun deck were built. The hotel offers 19 rooms, two suites, a fitness room and a spa.
