Tourism revenue in first 4 months up 21 pct y-o-y

Tourism generated HRK 5.73 billion in revenues in the first four months of 2014, up 21 per cent on the year, the Tourism Ministry said on Wednesday, citing Tax Administration data.

The data refers to accommodation, hospitality, travel agencies and tour operators.

Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin said he was extremely pleased, adding that financial indicators were the measure of successful business. He said the revenue increase in hotels, camps and restaurants was a positive sign for the whole year.

Lorencin said investments were important for positive financial results, calling on the entire sector to continue investing in their services so as to make tourism even better and more competitive.

Accommodation revenues in the first four months of 2014 totalled HRK 2.34 billion, up 55% on the year.
