Two large tourism conferences are to be held in Croatia this month for travel agencies and tour operators from Belgium and Great Britain, one is currently underway in Istria and the other is to be held in Dubrovnik at the end of the month.
Both conferences are being organised in cooperation with county and city tourist boards and the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ), which has stressed the importance of the conferences to promote Croatia's tourism.
HTZ has said that this is a good opportunity to make an impression on tourism experts from these countries, which should impact future numbers of visitors.
The number of tourists coming from both Belgium and Great Britain has increased over the past few years.
The HTZ reported that in the first eight months of this year, around 128,000 tourists from Belgium visited Croatia, which is 13.5% more than for the same period last year.
Almost 24% more tourists from the United Kingdom visited Croatia in that period, bringing that number to almost 300,000.
