Dubrovnik is to be the host of the First Regional Wine Festival - Dubrovnik Festi WiNe - to be held 25 and 26 April next year in an effort to connect tourism and wine in the region and in that way advance Croatia's tourism offer.
The festival which is to be funded by the European Union was officially presented by Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavic and Mayor Andro Vlahusic on Tuesday.
Dobroslavic pointed out that over the past few years the county was particularly involved in applying for European funds and in cooperation with partners from Montenegro, seven projects had been realised. The festival is yet another step in line with a strategy adopted last year referring to promoting wineries in Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
This cross-border project aims at networking wine tourism. WiNe will involve wine routes and museums, visits to wineries, wine tasting and culinary events with the regional wine festival being at the core of the project. (Hina)
