The Terme Jezercica spa complex in Donja Stubica, 40 km northeast of Zagreb, on Friday inaugurated a new aqua park and additional facilities, and this project cost HRK 30 million (approximately four million euros).
Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony was Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic who said that this investment would enrich the programme offered to potential tourists in the region of Hrvatsko Zagorje.
The Terme Jezercica spa also plans to build 50 additional rooms, which would require HRK 18 million (EUR 2.4 million).
The privately-owned Jezercica HotelSpa and Thermal Baths are situated in the town of Donja Stubica, atop a natural thermal spring which supplies all the water for the entire complex. It is located on the northern slope of Medvednica Mount, near Medvednica Nature Park.
The entire complex covers 3,400 square metres and now includes six swimming pools.
Last year, the company, which now employs 66 workers, had 13,200 overnight stays of guests, which was by 66 percent more than in 2010. (Hina)
