The 6th Libertas Film Festival, to be held in the southern resort city of Dubrovnik on July 2-6, will feature more than 100 films.
Festival programme director Stjepan Hundic has said that he is satisfied with the high quality and cultural diversity of films to be shown at the festival.
The festival features The Secret In Their Eyes, this year's Academy Award winner for best foreign language film, White Material (France, Cameroon), Dark House (Poland), Kinatay (Philippines), Adrift (Vietnam), Border Blues (Iran), Air Doll (Japan) and How I Ended This Summer (Russia). Some of the films to be shown out of competition are Precious (USA), Norman (USA) and Triage (Ireland, Spain, Belgium, France).
The festival's programme also includes documentaries and short films. This year's edition of the festival introduces the category of children movies, featuring more than 60 films.
A selection of Polish animated films made in the last 60 years and more than 40 films made by members of Croatian film clubs will also be shown during the festival.
The festival jury will be chaired by renowned film producer Robert Lantos. The jury also includes Dante Spinotti, director of photography and member of the Motion Picture Association of America, and actress Mira Furlan.
This year's award for contribution to film art will be given to Czech director Jiri Menzel. (Hina)
