Croatia, Montenegro facilitate transport of passengers from airports

Croatia and Montenegro have resolved the problem of tourist transport to airports in Dubrovnik, Croatia and Tivat, Montenegro, the Montenegrin Transport Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.

"It has been agreed that Croatian and Montenegrin carriers should transport without obstacles tourists and passengers from Croatia to the airport in Tivat and from Montenegro to Cilipi (Dubrovnik's airport) and the other way round in accordance with the Interbus Agreement," said the press release.

This agreement provides for coach and bus transport without permits and required documents.

According to the press release, the Croatian transport ministry has notified its inspection and control bodies to apply solely the rules of the European Agreement concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles engaged in International Road Transport (AETR) in controlling the driving time of Montenegrin drivers in Croatia.

Representatives of the two transport ministries also discussed the possibility of exempting carriers from permits and the full liberalisation of transport with a view to removing administrative obstacles and reducing costs, the press release said. (Hina)
