Q1 revenues from foreign tourists up 24.6%

Revenues from foreign tourists in Croatia reached €824.7 million in the first quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport said on Friday citing the data from the Croatian National Bank.

This is a rise of 24.6% compared to the first three months of 2023, or €162.9 million more in revenue.

"We are pleased that the trend of generating record revenues from foreign tourists over the past two years has continued in 2024. From 2016 to the end of 2023, when revenues from foreign tourists amounted to a record €14.6 billion, we recorded an increase of 75%, and now this growth is even more pronounced outside the summer months as well," Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina said.

Glavina said this is a confirmation of the government's strategic activities that position Croatia as a year-round tourist destination. He noted that in the first five months of this year tourist traffic was 12% higher than in the same period last year.
