The Croatian National Tourist Board organised, on the occasion of the European Football Championship in Germany, two promotional events in Neuruppin, the base of the Croatian national football team.
The aim is to bring Croatia closer to the citizens of Neuruppin and the Brandenburg region as a high-quality, attractive and desirable tourist destination with a diverse offer.
The photo exhibition "Experience Croatia" was opened today in the premises of the city gallery.
Jandroković opens exhibition "Experience Croatia" in Neuruppin
The exhibition was opened by Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković, who expressed his belief that it would be an incentive for many new guests to visit Croatia, but also an additional reason for the return of those who have already experienced the exceptional tourist attractions of our country.
He also said that this photo exhibition showed the emotionality of the Croatian people, especially when it comes to the Croatian national football team.
Present at the exhibition were Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, Neuruppin Mayor Nico Ruhle, Ambassador of Croatia to Germany H.E. Gordan Bakota, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, Director of the HTZ Representative Office in Germany Romeo Draghicchio and numerous other guests.
In the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful photos of Croatian landscapes, tourist attractions, and Croatian football players, and Šime Vrsaljko, a former Croatian national team player and the main subject of one of the most memorable photos at the exhibition created during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, was among the first to view the exhibition. All interested visitors will be able to view the exhibition photos every day during the duration of the Euro and the admission is free.
Glavina: Synergy of sports and tourism represents Croatia in most beautiful way
"It is precisely through the synergy of sports and tourism that we can present our country in the most beautiful way possible, and that is why we wanted to use this opportunity to present Croatia not only as a sports nation, but also as a tourist destination with a rich natural, cultural, historical and wine-gastronomic offer. The most intense part of the tourist year is ahead of us, and with these additional activities we want to encourage the arrival of new guests," said Minister Glavina.
The HTZ also organised a small Croatian fair in the main city square, where all visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the rich cultural heritage and various types of food and wine, while a diverse entertainment music programme was prepared with the Šibenik Klapa Sebenico.
Director Staničić pointed out that Germany is the most important foreign market for Croatian tourism, which accounts for over 20% of overnight stays.
The small Croatian fair will be opened on 14 and 15 June, and the sculptures of Croatian greats who left a big mark in Croatian and world history will contribute significantly to the presentation of Croatia. These are sculptures of inventor Nikola Tesla, researcher Marco Polo, basketball player Dražen Petrović, sculptor Ivan Meštrović, mathematician Ruđer Bošković and engineer Slavoljub Penkala, which are positioned in different parts of the main city square.
