"For most of those camping sites the issue of the use of the maritime domain has not been regulated nor has the boundary of that domain been determined, and since they are an important tourism segment of the national economy, urgent measures are needed to regulate their operation," said the minister.

The Finance Ministry, the Customs Administration and the Administration for Navigation Safety of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Ministry have been entrusted with putting out of force bans on the operation of camping sites until property-rights relations are regulated in the parts of the maritime domain where they still have not been regulated, by 31 December 2025 at the latest.

Butković said all companies that operate camping sites in what unquestionably is maritime domain will be charged and the fee will correspond to "the concession fee determined in a tender for an approximately similar location, starting as of 1 January 2019."

Without providing more details, he added that "after the boundary of the maritime domain is determined, the final calculation of the fee for the commercial use of the domain will be made."
