The tourism ministry has appropriated €3.4 million for 325 projects to boost competitiveness in the tourism industry in the whole of Croatia in 2024, and a half of the amount is intended for hotels, the ministry stated on Wednesday.
The open call has been launched for applications for state aid under a scheme called "The Competitiveness of the Tourism Enterprise Sector".
Minister Tonči Glavina was quoted as saying that the decisions on the selection of the projects have been made based on the open call, just as was the case in the previous years.
Glavina added that the scheme is expanded very year to include more and more beneficiaries, and this year charter vessels are also eligible to apply for the financial support.
All the selected projects are supposed to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism sector, with focus being put on the Green and digital transition of businesses in the sector.
Beneficiaries eligible to apply for grants are SMEs in the tourism and hospitality sectors and family-run farms (including wineries), as well as hotels, campsites and charter vessels.
