Tourism and Sports Minister Nikolina Brnjac and the head of the Kalos special hospital in Vela Luka on the island of Korčula, Damira Bojić, sealed a €8.44 million contract on Tuesday for the renovation project, upgrading the hospital into a spa and wellness complex.
Upon the completion, , the revamped Kalos facility will feature a four-star hotel tailored for medical tourism.
On that occasion, the minister said that the government has set aside €130 million for 13 projects of health tourism throughout Croatia.
Established in 1972, Kalos initially served as a medical rehabilitation institute on this southern island. In 1994, it was rebranded as a specialized hospital focusing on medical rehabilitation.
