Istria expects about five percent more tourists on the year over the Christmas and New Year holidays, according to estimates provided by the Istria County tourism board, meaning that approximately 40,000 visitors will choose Istria and make 140,000 overnight stays.
"The largest number of guests is expected on the last three days of the New Year, and we expect guests from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy Austria and Germany," said the director of the Istrian Tourist Board, Denis Ivošević.
The most visited destinations will be, as always, Rovinj, Poreč, Pula and Umag.
