PM, sport minister attend European Week of Sport National Day

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Tourism and Sport Minister Nikolina Brnjac attended the National Day - Sport Village event in Velika Gorica on Sunday, held as part of the European Week of Sport.

The event marks the end of the European Week of Sport, which began in 42 European countries on 23 September. The event is dedicated to sport and active living, bringing together sport organisations and clubs, and promotes healthy living and the team spirit.

Velika Gorica and Zagreb County are "extremely active, taking account of physical culture... of what sport gives, values in life and quality of living," Plenković said, adding that Zagreb County has over 20,000 registered athletes.

"I'm extremely glad that in these nine years we have included 250,000 citizens in the European Week of Sport. Be active, exercise. You can exercise everywhere and in any season of the year," said Brnjac.

Thirty-five sport clubs and organisations from Velika Gorica showed their work to members of the public as part of the National Day - Sport Village, including handball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and chess players, footballers, gymnasts, and dancers.
