The HrTurizam.hr b2b tourism portal and the Institute for Tourism have been put on the "75 Most Innovative Organisations in Tourism Policy 2021" list, the portal said on Saturday.
Its founder Goran Rihelj said there were various challenges in Croatian tourism, such as extending the season, sustainable and strategic destination development, a domestic workforce shortage, and insufficient cooperation and synergy.
But one of the main problems is the lack of a quality dialogue and communication between the private and public sectors, he added.
Will we continue to talk about the potential and the need for change or will we all act together and be the change that will turn the potential into quality resources, Rihelj wondered.
It's necessary to proactively engage in market development and growth, and there must be dialogue and consensus on common themes and challenges, synergy and cooperation, he said.
Croatian tourism should follow global trends, but also create them, Rihelj added.
The "75 Most Innovative Organizations in Tourism Policy 2021" list was made in partnership with the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Mastercard, and was announced on the occasion of World Tourism Day, 27 September.
