The Istria County Tourist Board on Tuesday signed a letter of intent on mutual exchange and cooperation with the Tourism Association of South Korea's Jeju Province.
The letter says the two regions will promote the exchange of experience in the tourism industry with regular agreements, and develop tourism services and joint marketing strategies, cooperate in attempts to launch charter flights, and exchange information on statistics and trends related to tourism.
That also envisages cooperation via agreements based on the mutual principle regarding agreements that are not included in the letter of intent.
The letter is the crowning achievement of the cooperation launched several years ago by the Croatian Ambassador to South Korea Damir KuĊĦen.
After signing the letter of intent, representatives of the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding.
Like Istria, Jeju is a popular tourist destination visited by 15 million tourists annually.
