​Tourism and cooperation important for Croatia and Montenegro

Tourism is important for Croatia and Montenegro which have cooperated successfully in many projects and task forces, and it is essential to continue that cooperation, Croatia's Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac and Montenegro's Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović said on Tuesday.

Croatia's tourism ministry said in a press release that Milatović met with Brnjac during an official visit to Croatia accompanying Montenegro's Finance Minister Milojko Spajić.

Brnjac informed the Montenegrin ministers of the Safe stay in Croatia project motivating everyone in the travel chain to adhere to epidemiological measures.

She underscored that in preparing for the tourism season Croatia was taking systematic care of safety and health conditions to facilitate the arrival of tourists to Croatia.

She informed the two ministers that inoculation of people in the tourism industry had begun in Croatia and that the plan is to inoculate 50% of the adult population. She added that testing stations have been set up for guests at tourism destinations and that antigen tests will be subsidised for which HRK 20 million had been allocated. She added that the government was providing jobkeeping support through subsidies.

Minister Milatović welcomed Croatia's efforts ahead of its main tourism season, and in particular commended the Stay safe project, adding that Croatia was a positive example for Montenegro in many ways.
