Hotel Rixos Premium Dubrovnik opens doors after HRK 150 mn investment

The luxury hotel Rixos Premium Dubrovnik opened its doors on Wednesday following eight months of intensive reconstruction, an investment of HRK 150 million, the largest investment this year in tourism in Dubrovnik, the hotel said.

The hotel has been totally refurbished - 310 luxury rooms, including 17 suites and a presidential suite, as well as public areas and reception, lobby bar and terrace restaurant, balconies and so on.

The spa & wellness centre plus fitness and gym facilities have been expanded and the hotel also has an original hamam (Turkish bath), the only one in any hotel in Dubrovnik.

The Dubrovnik Rixos is part of the multinational Rixos Group which is part of the Accor hotel brand.

Rixos hotels are currently located in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Croatia, Switzerland, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The Dubrovnik Rixos Premium is a five-star hotel and is one of Rixos's five premium hotels, and it was successfully renovated despite the challenges of the global coronavirus pandemic, the hotel's management said.

Opening the hotel, director Ayhan Basci said that 16 years ago the company realised the strong potential and exceptional position hotels in Dubrovnik had and that this latest hotel is the most luxurious hotel in Croatia.

"I am convinced that this valuable investment will contribute to improving Dubrovnik's tourism offer and to the development of the entire destination. The first guests have already started arriving and I am certain that we will justify their expectations," Basci said.

The Rixos Premium Dubrovnik hotel employs 130 permanent staff with a wealthy international experience of working in luxury hotels and restaurants, and more than half are local employees. Despite the situation with the coronavirus, the hotel kept all its staff and is proud of their multiculturalism. (Hina)
